Please read this page in its entirety before submitting a request for help. Thank you!
First off, we’d like to say that we understand that this is a difficult time for you, so we will try our best to make this process as easy as we can. However, since we are an official 501 (c)(3) non-profit, there are some requirements we are obligated to meet to continue to qualify under this type of status.
Requirements before requesting help
Moto F.A.M. raises money solely through the generosity of individuals and businesses that support our cause. These partnerships allow us to raise the money we need to help each rider (or their family) after an accident. This is why it’s important for us to make some clarifications.
• Moto F.A.M. does not and cannot support riders that were “under the influence” the day of their accident. We have a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for this. We will also not fund a rider that was riding outside of street legal guidelines (example: street racing or stunts of any kind). By supporting this kind of behavior, we would be jeopardizing the integrity of our organization, as well as the support we receive.
• We’d also like to clarify a few other important things before you submit your request. We only fund street motorcycle riders. We do not fund racing accidents or off-road riding. We also do not cover anything sport related.
• Another clarification we feel is important to make: The nature of the INJURIES WE SUPPORT. Moto F.A.M.’s focus is directed towards riders whose lives are FOREVER changed as a result of their accident. Injuries that riders will forever need medical attention or treatment for. Their accident has affected the ability to return back to the life they had before their accident. For example, traumatic brain injuries, paralysis, amputation, loss of loved ones. These are the type of injuries we are focused on supporting.
**We highly encourage riders to take the necessary precautions needed when owning or operating a motorcycle. Proper health & motorcycle insurance are a good start. Most minor injuries as well as motorcycle repair/replacement will be covered if you are PROPERLY insured. Don’t let your lack of responsibility fall on anyone else.
• We’d also like to make it very clear that we don’t help riders trying to raise money to repair or replace their motorcycle following an accident. Please look through our social media to become better familiarized with the type of accidents/situations we do help with.
A brief explanation of what Moto F.A.M. does to help
Moto F.A.M. will donate $500 to the Gofundme (or other fundraising campaign) set up for the motorcyclist involved in a serious motorcycle accident. Once we do that, we reach out to the people that follow us through our website and social media by posting the information and link to the fundraising campaign. The idea is to use the powerful reach of social media in the hopes that the more people see the campaign, the more potential for other donations.
Before setting up a Gofundme, please read our 4 Tips for Creating a Successful Fundraising Campaign.
If you or someone you know are in need of help, please fill out the form below. Moto F.A.M. will contact you in 3-5 business days; if your injuries qualify under our guidelines. Please be prepared to provide additional information if requested.
If you have legal questions or would like to know your rights you can contact Russ Brown for a free consultation.
